Don't You Worry.

Dear Brit, (& other blog readers)

I am ok! :) For someone (myself) who does not have a job I have been busy (strange I know!) Last week I did feel better cold wise. Then all day Sunday I had a headache & seriously slept all day. I was miserable. & even though I felt like I would rather die I remembered that my friend Katrina has been getting bad migraines & she is expecting a baby & has a toddler with her, so I sucked it up.

This week I went to NYC with the bearded fella & also have been helping a friend get ready for a wedding (working til 12am!)

& it has been in the high 80's all week - Blah!

I have blogging on my to do list plus pictures! Hopefully I will remember my camera cord and get caught up tomorrow!

Love you all :)

Today in Pictures & Sentences :)

(Batman cuddling with me & trying to make me feel better)

Well it looks like I got the end of the summer cold. At least I think it is a cold. I cannot tell if it is a cold or a sinus something or rather.

So I took some of this NASTY stuff:

It seriously makes me want to throw up every time I take one. Blaaaa. But I have heard nothing but good things about it. So I dunno.

While Tim & I were out & about today I found this: (well mine is white)

I was sooo excited , it is one of my favorite brands (Copco) & I got it at Ross (I really like the Kitchen ware section at stores like Ross,TJ Max, Marshalls).

At first I went to TJ Max & I found a MICROWAVABLE hot drink travel mug - FINALLY & some cute scrap paper. Yay! I get to the register & figure out that my wallet is on the chair back at Tims house (argh!) But obviously it worked out because I got this cute kettle! (Tim paid for it & I paid him later in hugs n' kisses... kidding! I did give him a hug though & I paid him back in actually money)

I really wanted this to drink tonight:

I found a REALLY awesome deal on Amazon for it (& Tim bought it for me - man that guy takes REALLY good care of me)

Anyway, I figured it would be better if I drank the Peppermint tea instead. So I did & while I waited for the kettle to whistle I ate a few spoon fulls of:

It was pretty delicious.

30 Days of Me - Day 7

A Picture of Someone/Something That Has Had A Big Impact On Me

The David Crowder Band! The music they make is so beautiful & has changed my life.

Camp RedCloud - Yes it is true. In a round about way this place saved my life (it is a corny thing I say) but I prob would not have gone to the doctor when I was having the normal pains & my gal bladder would have ruptured ... well you know the rest :)

Rappelling - I am SO scared of heights & that is not conducive to working at Red Cloud. So here I am conquering my fears! I fell in love with Rappelling & the zip line. Yippee! (p.s. I am still scared of heights)

Chris Judy has had a big impact on me. I am not posting a picture because it makes me too sad. The relationship I had with him was different than any other relationship I have ever had. I will miss that.

& lets be honest...

JRY has had a big impact on me. I am not posting a picture for obvious reasons but it is super true.

30 Days of Me - Day 6

My Favorite Super Hero

I would probably say the Batman ( I do have a Batman blanket afterall ) It has no logical rhyme or reason really... Christian Bale is my favorite version. "Heyyyyy there..."

A Place I Have Been

My 1st 14er - Handies Mountain (one of my most favorite pictures ever)

Coors Field (I love it there!)

Beaches of Maine! (Brrrr Cold!)

A Great Moment

Jess, Tim, Me!

Last week my brother Tim & his wife Jess drove from RI to VA for our cousins wedding. It worked out BEAUTIFULLY that (my) Tim & I could meet them along the way in PA (which was 15 minute drive at the most) for dinner at a lovely Thai place (Oishi - I recommend it!). It was a beautiful reunion. Really. I was SO glad that this could happen. It had been 6 years since I had seen Tim! & I had not met Jess yet, we had been friends on Facebook for 2 years so this was really exciting!

When we were all sitting at the table eating, (bro) Tim asked when the last time we saw each other... I counted back to when our nephew was 3 and it just baffled me. When (bro) Tim and I were talking about why it had been... I was telling a few stories and he just looked at me and said 'Life'. Which let me tell you was the PERFECT response. I am so thankful that he understood and it was just great. The best thing about my brothers is that no matter how long in between visits it is for us, we always pick up where we left off. It is awesome.

I cannot wait to see more of my family. That really is the benefit of living here... no matter how much I miss Colorado (SO FLIPPIN MUCH). It will be really hard to leave for the reason that my family is seriously SO much closer.

Wowzers.

30 Days of Me - Day 4

A Habit I Wish I Did Not Have

Ha! Where do start?! Ok, not really.

Uhm... I wish I could leave the past in the past. Currently I am MAJORLY struggling with this with 3 things:
1. John - this whole year has been super hard because the memories are so fresh. This weekend is really hard. This time last year we went to the beach for the last time, it was the last time I saw him, it was the time he began to put up a wall and let what he was struggling with win over how great we were. (oh the tears!)
2. Chris - the move he just made, the way things have changed the past 3 months, it really does feel like a breakup, and I cannot handle that right now.
3. UIH - I am still angry about UIH being closed down. I have said it at least 3 times, but I loved my new job & the job that I really want I cannot seem to get. There was no sound reason for UIH being closed down and that really ticks me off.

My heart is heavy --- good thing HE makes my burden light... I just have to keep remembering that!

Easier said than done.

30 Days of Me - Day 3

A Picture of Me & My Friends (in random order)

CHRIS- I met him when I was working @ Camp Red Cloud in 2005, he was a youth pastor who brought his youth for a week. We clicked & have been good friends ever since. He has helped me through a lot & I can only hope that I have helped him in some way.
(picture taken in 2008 Austin, Texas)

KATRINA- I also met Katrina at Camp Red Cloud. We worked together & we had a lot in common & felt the same way about a lot of things :) I also went with her to Greeley to meet her future husband & Greeley ended up being my future home. It has been lovely staying in touch with her over the years! She encourages me in life, faith, & craftyness!
(picture taken in 2005 Lake City, Colorado - look how young we look!)

JOEL- Oh Joel! We met online my 1st or 2nd year in college. It was when meeting people online was still scary! Lol. We chatted a lot & even sent each other pictures from our lives. In fact I was really interested in dating him, our religious beliefs have prevented that. He is very intelligent, caring, athletic.
(picture taken in 2008 Austin, Texas)

LIANNE- I met LiAnne working at the library in Greeley. The first day I was training her we were talking & I knew instantly she was a kindred spirit. She taught me to knit & we made delicious things together in her kitchen (bread, mallowmars, soup). Her kitchen is so welcoming & I love it there! She now has a toddler! I love this lady!
(Picture taken in 2009, Greeley Colorado)

MARTINA- Oh what a story this gal & I have! :) We also worked @ Camp Red Cloud together but it was not all that great at first - lol. We did not get along at all! It was not until I had surgery & she had to help me with a shower! That we realized 'hey she is not bad at all' HA! Ever since then I have been so grateful for Martina & I love the life she lives. She is brutally honest & beautiful!
(Picture taken in 2008 in Austin, Texas)

MICHELLE & LAURA- I met these lovely ladies working at the library in Greeley. We are all so much alike. Michelle is so much fun & has a great laugh & wears great dresses! She is caring & a great listener! Laura is adorable & funny. We have a similar personality & have gone through similar things in life. She also has an amazing voice!
(Picture taken 2009 Greeley, Colorado)

KELLI- I met Kelli through a family at Camp Red Cloud. She lived in Greeley & let me just say it was difficult to meet with her at first, her sister was getting married & she was helping out a lot. We finally met up & thus began this amazingly beautiful friendship. Sometimes it has been hard but always great. The most difficult thing has been the distance between us now, she is married & has had a baby since I moved. Ugh life!
(Picture taken in 2007 Greeley Colorado)

BRITANY- Yay! I met Britany through the church I worked at in Greeley. I think I was volunteering for at least 6 months before I even thought 'oh hey, I should see if we should hang out'. I do not know why that is... but I am SO glad I did because this has been the most blessed by a friend I have ever been. She is so generous with her time & assets. She always listens, has a great laugh, has ALWAYS understood where I come from, & has never judged me. This friendship is one for the books. I will truly die if I lose this lady!
(Picture taken in 2008 in Loveland, Colorado)
KARIN- This is Tim's (see below) sister in law, who I obviously met through Tim :) She is kind and crafty and is always willing to make me a caramel mocha! I also feel she is a kindred spirit. We have the same feelings about things in our lives, we get to talk about our guys and laugh. We watch the same shows. A true friendship has formed!
(Picture taken in 2010 Princeton, New Jersey)

TIM- I met Tim at a Halloween Party, we 'went out' for my birthday (because drinking Saki with my housemates was not good enough). It took awhile before I felt like I could date him, he was patient and kind. He is generous and makes me laugh and is smart as a whip when it comes to money. He is always willing to 'lightly touch my back' & buy me a coffee treat. A very kind soul indeed.
(Picture taken 2010 Hopewell, New Jersey)

& of course I must mention 2 families that I do not have pictures with ( I have pictures of them though!)

WOOTENS- Oh these people! :) I met Aaron first at church in Greeley & then I met his wife Sarah. At the time they had a daughter & Sarah was pregnant with Aricin. (Who was born on my birthday!) I began Wooten sitting a week after Aricin was born and that was that folks. That kid took my heart (& has not given it back yet!) A year later Kael was born! This whole family has challenged me & has helped me & has blessed me. Aaron especially has helped me so much in my walk and with me accepting myself for who I am. Something I will never forget it.

BARNES- I met the Barnes through church in Greeley. I dog/house sat for them & through that I ended up moving in with them for a bit & the rest is history. Haha. I house sat for them a few more times after that & then they had their 2nd baby & I watched the kiddos for them. Winter of 2008 they moved to Florida & asked me to help them move to Florida. Charles & Andi are 2 of my favorite people, their marriage is one that encourages me & teaches me so much. I miss them insanely much (& their 2 doggies!). They have always been there for me since we met & I will never forget.

**** It will be VERY hard to top this post. It has been a blessing to write about these people that are a great deal apart of who I am, I hope to always remember!)****

Feels like ...

I had a pleasant conversation with the unemployment lady today.

In Related News: I HATE being unemployed. I am absolutely MISERABLE.
It feels just like this time last year.

30 Days of Me- Day 2

The Meaning of My Blog Name

The main title 'Going and Growing' is from when I went to college in Missouri & I became apart of the best church - Springhill Baptist Church. The church "motto" if you will is Going and Growing ... So as I was making this blog I thought that it was appropriate for me. Especially since I have moved a lot the past 10 years!

The subtitle 'A New Chapter on the East Coast' was changed when I moved to NJ just over a year ago. It amazes me how much has changed in the year ( not at all what I thought my future would be )

& of course, I am still going (barely) and I am still growing
